About this activity
Akshardham is Delhi’s biggest Hindu temple complex — white marble and pink sandstone, carved entirely by hand and raised without a single steel beam. On this evening outing you see the temple and its gardens as the daylight fades, then take your place for the Sahaj Anand water show.

The show plays out across the steps of a giant step-well — fountains, fire, lasers and light, retelling a tale from the Upanishads. We look after everything around it: the car, the driver, a guide who speaks your language, and your show ticket.
Itinerary
Evening Pickup
Your car — private and air-conditioned — picks you up from your hotel, home, or airport anywhere in Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, Gurgaon (Gurugram), Ghaziabad, or Faridabad. We set the pickup time by sunset, so you reach Akshardham with time to spare before the evening gates close.
Screening at the Gate
Security here is as thorough as at an airport, and bags, phones, and cameras are not allowed past it. Leave all three in the car — your driver stays with it — and you can skip the cloakroom altogether. If you’d rather, the free cloakroom at the complex will hold them instead.
Inside the Akshardham Mandir
Your guide leads you around the main temple — Italian marble and pink sandstone, standing without any steel frame inside. A procession of 148 stone elephants runs around its base, and thousands more carved figures crowd the walls above.
The Bharat Upavan at Dusk
The way from the temple leads through the gardens of Bharat Upavan and on to the Yagnapurush Kund — said to be the largest step-well anywhere in the world, and the open-air theater for tonight’s show.
Sahaj Anand — Water, Fire and Light
Find a spot on the steps and settle in. For 24 minutes, jets of water, flames that burn beneath the surface, surround sound, lasers, and light come together to retell a tale from the Upanishads.
The Drive Back
Once the show is over, your driver is ready to take you back to your hotel, or wherever you are staying in Delhi NCR.

Before you go
Important notes for this tour.
- Akshardham shuts every Monday, so this activity runs Tuesday to Sunday only.
- Bags, phones, and cameras cannot go in with you, and taking pictures is banned anywhere on site. Your driver can keep all three in the car, or you can hand them in at the free cloakroom.
- Expect a thorough, airport-type security check on the way in, and shoes come off before you step into the temple itself.
- You pay nothing to walk into the temple and its gardens. The water show needs a ticket of its own — and we’ve already covered it.
- The show begins once the sun has set, and sunset shifts across the year — so your pickup time shifts with it. Your booking confirmation gives you the exact time.
- Please dress modestly and cover your shoulders and knees. The rule is the same for every visitor.
- The show is staged in the open air. If heavy rain stops it, you get the price of the show ticket back.
Questions travelers ask
- 01
Which days can I book?
Any day from Tuesday to Sunday. Akshardham shuts every Monday, so please pick another evening.
- 02
Do I need to buy a show ticket?
No — it’s part of the price. Walking into the temple and its gardens costs nothing, and we cover the one ticket you do need, for the Sahaj Anand show.
- 03
When does the water show begin?
Once the sun has set, so it shifts with the seasons. We work your pickup time back from sunset and give you the exact time in your booking confirmation.
- 04
Where can you pick me up?
From any hotel, residence, or airport in Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, Gurgaon (Gurugram), Ghaziabad, or Faridabad — and we drop you back at the same kind of place afterward.
- 05
How much time should I set aside?
Roughly three hours door to door — the drive from central Delhi, a walk round the temple and its gardens, and a show that lasts 24 minutes.
- 06
Can I take my phone or camera in?
Not past security. Akshardham bans bags, phones, and cameras across the whole complex, and no pictures are allowed anywhere inside. They stay safe in the car with your driver, so there’s nothing to check in at the cloakroom — though the free cloakroom is there if you’d prefer it.
- 07
What should I wear?
Clothes that cover your shoulders and knees — the same rule applies to every visitor. Shoes come off before the temple, so something easy to slip on and off helps.
- 08
Will other people be at the show?
Yes — Sahaj Anand is a public performance, so you watch it among other visitors. The rest of the evening belongs to your group alone — a private car and driver, yours from pickup to drop-off.
- 09
Which languages can the guide speak?
English, Hindi, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Russian, Japanese, or Chinese (Mandarin). All nine are included — just tell us your pick when you book.
- 10
What happens if it rains?
The show takes place outdoors, and heavy rain can call it off. If that happens, you get the price of the show ticket back.
- 11
Can I cancel?
Yes, free of charge, as long as you tell us a full 24 hours ahead of the start.
- 12
Can I reach you during the evening?
Any time. Our support team is on call around the clock, every day of the year.
