About this activity
This is Jaipur from the sky, at the stillest hour of the day. You take off from the launch site near Amber just as the sun clears the hills, then drift with the breeze for about an hour — over Jaigarh and Amber Fort on their ridge, the lakes, old stepwells, and the villages below, with the Aravalli range all around you.

We pick you up at your Jaipur hotel before dawn and usually have you back by mid-morning, so plan on three to four hours in all — the drive out, tea and a safety talk while the balloon fills, the flight, and the customary celebration once you’re back on the ground, with a signed flight certificate to take home. Here’s how the morning goes.
Itinerary
Pre-Dawn Pickup from Your Hotel
Your driver meets you at your Jaipur hotel while it’s still dark — you’ll have had the exact time from us the night before. From there, it’s a 30–45 minute drive to the launch site near Amber.
Tea at the Launch Site
There’s tea and a few light refreshments waiting when you arrive. While you have them, the crew fills the balloon and your pilot goes over the safety points with everyone on the flight.
Take-Off at Dawn
Once the balloon is upright and ready, you step aboard and the basket leaves the ground as the sky turns gold. It’s quiet up here — apart from the burner firing now and then, there’s little to hear.
Above the Amber Valley
Plan on around an hour in the air. A balloon goes where the wind goes, but your pilot changes height to catch the breezes that run along the valley, and calls out the sights as they pass underneath — Jaigarh and Amber Fort up on the hills, the lakes, and village rooftops.
Touchdown & Certificate
Where you come down depends on the breeze, so the chase crew follows by road and is waiting when the basket lands. Then there’s the customary celebration on the ground, and everyone receives a signed flight certificate.
Drive Back to Jaipur
Your driver takes you back to your hotel — you’re usually there by mid-morning, with the rest of the day still free.

Before you go
Important notes for this tour.
- We fly at sunrise and only at sunrise — that’s when the wind is most settled. Expect to be collected before daybreak; we’ll let you know the precise pickup time the night before.
- Whether the balloon goes up is decided by the weather on the day. If your pilot calls off the flight because of rain, strong wind, or poor visibility, you can choose another date or take a full refund.
- Rajasthan’s balloon season runs mainly from September through April. In the summer months, flights are fewer and further between.
- Children are welcome from age 5, as long as they can stand on their own the entire time you’re in the air. Please send us every traveler’s age when you book.
- Ballooning isn’t suitable if you’re pregnant, have had surgery recently, or have a heart condition or back trouble.
- Dress for a chilly start: closed-toe shoes, long pants, and a few layers you can take off. The ground is cold before the sun is up, but the burner throws plenty of heat once you’re flying.
- Everyone on the flight needs to board and leave the basket on their own.
Questions travelers ask
- 01
What time will you pick us up?
Before dawn, since every flight launches at sunrise. Your pilot checks the forecast first, and then we send you the time for your pickup the night before.
- 02
How much of the morning is spent in the air?
Around an hour. Door to door, the outing runs three to four hours — that covers the drive out, tea and the safety talk, the flight, the celebration after landing, and the ride back to your hotel.
- 03
Where does the balloon take off?
From a launch site near Amber, roughly 30 to 45 minutes by road from your Jaipur hotel. Where you land depends on the wind — the chase crew follows and meets you there.
- 04
What if the weather isn’t right?
Then the balloon stays on the ground — your pilot will call it off for rain, strong wind, or poor visibility. If that happens, you can pick another date or have your money back in full.
- 05
Is the hotel transfer included?
Yes — your own car and driver pick you up at your Jaipur hotel and bring you back afterward.
- 06
Will other travelers be on the flight?
They can be — this is a small-group activity, so you may share the basket with other guests. Your car to and from the hotel is private to you.
- 07
Can children fly?
Yes, from 5 years old, as long as they can stand on their own while you’re in the air. Let us know how old everyone in your group is when you book.
- 08
Is anyone advised not to fly?
Yes — please don’t fly if you’re pregnant, have had recent surgery, or have a heart condition or back trouble. Everyone also needs to board and leave the basket on their own. If you’re not sure, check with your doctor before you book.
- 09
What should we wear?
Closed-toe shoes, long pants, and layers. It’s cold before the sun is up, but once you’re flying, the burner overhead keeps you warm.
- 10
What happens once we land?
You join the customary celebration that follows the landing, and everyone gets a signed flight certificate to take home.
- 11
Which languages do you offer?
All nine are included at no extra cost: English, Hindi, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Russian, Japanese, and Chinese (Mandarin). Tell us your choice when you book.
- 12
Can I cancel?
Yes — cancel no later than 24 hours before the start time and there’s no charge. And if your pilot calls the flight off because of the weather, you can rebook or take a full refund.
